Why Bamboo

The Bamboo we use in our TP is called Chi bamboo, it is the fastest and quickest growing bamboo in the world, it will grow 30cm per day after 5 years of growing and reach to 15metres height in 6 weeks.

Bamboo is like a grass; it must be cut regularly to encourage its growth. For Oobamboo TP we only harvest 4-5-year-old bamboo to encourage its growth.

All our bamboo goes through outdoor natural fermentation, it takes a round 4 Months for the bamboo pulp colour to change from green to brown, that’s why our paper is brown. During this process, absolutely no chemicals are added to speed up the fermentation.

What about Pandas?

Don’t worry.

Pandas eat 60 different kinds of bamboo and the Chi bamboo is definitely not one of their favourites. We only source from local famers so we can keep a small-scale bamboo source, plus our bamboo farms are not in the panda habitats. Bamboo grows very easily and fast and can be harvested every 6-12 months, so there is no need to ruin any ecosystems. There is heaps of bamboo to go around!
